Welcome to the Rugeley Power Station Model Club formally Rugeley Power Station Model Boat Club.
The Model Club is a section of the Rugeley Power Station Social Club, located in the power station complex. Up until 2006 we were a model boat club but with some members having wider interests, we now offer a very warm welcome to anyone interested in making models of any description.
We meet on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. We sail on a very attractive lake only metres from the club house. On Wednesday evenings during the winter months we also have the use of the dance room floor of the social club for running radio controlled trucks and cars (not racing) and now the flying of micro-helecopters. Boats, trucks and micro-helecoptes are the main interests of present members together with some plastic modelling.
The Social Club is not open to the general public which we feel is an advantage as models have less chance of being damaged. The Club provides a very comfortable ‘home’ with both a bar and hot food available.
We are a small friendly collection of people with the common interest of model making. The aim is to enjoy our hobby and share skills. There is a very warm welcome to anyone who would like to join us; all you need to bring with you is your enthusiasm!
